Twin Cities Wine Education is proud to present a grand education on Bordeaux vintages, and the region of Pauillac in particular.
CHATEAU D'ARMAILHAC BORDEAUX VERTICAL
Featuring the vintages 2014, 2010, 2009, and 2005
It's a storied property, once part of what became the Mouton Rothschild estate. It’s history goes back centuries. As one of the first properties to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, they were leaders and trailblazers in their region. And we’re going to learn all about that region and this property while tasting a range of great vintages.
Pauillac is on the left bank of Bordeaux, and contains many of the best known names and produces some of the most expensive wines in the world. We’ll start by exploring the terroir of Pauillac and what makes it different from other Bordeaux sub-regions (while we taste some cool examples, of course). The history of the region and the connection to Dutch trade will be detailed, along with a plethora of cool maps to help with the learning.
Then we’re onto the vertical, featuring four of the best vintages of recent time including the outstanding 2009 and 2005. We’ll compare and contrast the wines while learning about the specifics of those vintages and how the weather influenced the final product.
Extremely limited seating for this outstanding event. I hope you can make it!
