Bubbly means celebration, good times, special occasions, and more often than not, Champagne. But 'real' Champagne is but one of the many incredible sparkling wines the world has to offer.
In this class, we will learn about everything Bubbly. We'll discuss Cremant from France, Cava from Spain, Prosecco from Italy, incredible sparkling wines from California, and rare gems from other parts of the world. And of course, Champagne! The real deal!
If it's wine and it has bubbles, we will be learning about it and tasting many examples.
We will also cover a huge range of other terminology attached to sparkling wine, including: the definition of the sweetness levels (Brut, Extra Dry, etc.), the different production methods, and the history of Champagne from the Romans through the World Wars, and up to today.
Of course this will be enhanced by tasting through a wide variety of top quality sparkling wines. We will end the class with a philosophical discussion about what makes a great sparkling wine and how best to incorporate it into you life outside of special occasions (i.e. food and wine pairings).
